A few years back, I went to the lovely country of Ecuador with a group of people that were exploring the possibilities of potentially moving there.
We spent time with the indigenous people and while I knew that was not something I could consider yet, with my daughter in high school, I felt very drawn to the country in many ways.
Two of the people in our group (another will be moving in the next year or so) did move to Ecuador!
A growing number of Americans and Europeans are retiring there or moving there to experience a deeper connection to the unspoiled land and the gently loving people. By US and European standards, it is VERY economical to live there, and their currency is the US dollar.
When the earthquakes hit, the leader of our Ecuadorian group contacted the people in our group who had moved there.
Thankfully, they both were not in the location of the earthquakes, but one of them sent the following letter to us.
I am sharing this information with you to check in with your inner guidance on any support you feel guided to provide. There is tremendous power in prayers and sending the energy of Divine Love to help impact everyone who were involved.
Many Blessings to you… seeing you and yours safe and healthy in all ways!
Love and JOY,
Here is an excerpt from our friend's letter back to the leader of our group:
I am overwhelmed by your love and concern! Thank you for all the notes, prayers, and messages making sure I am OK here in Ecuador.
I felt the quake at my house but it caused no damage. The areas affected are a several hundred miles away. I am very blessed and grateful.
However, my heart breaks for the people impacted. Thousands are still missing in the rubble and it is very hard for emergency equipment, food, medicine and supplies to reach people in need due to broken bridges and highway damage. The people impacted are among the very poorest of the nation.
If you want to help, please send prayers and light. This is a big tragedy that will tax the finances and systems of this developing nation of kind-hearted people who are rich in spirit but not in financial resources.
Several of you have asked about making donations.
I am giving to Hearts of Gold, a local agency working with food banks in the affected area to get food, clothing, blankets and medical supplies delivered asap. Trucks are leaving daily.
This is a good organization that I have supported for a couple of years now, so you can trust that 100% of your funds will go directly to help.
